POSITION TITLE: Energy Auditor  

POSITION RANGE: $20.00-$25.00/HR

POSITION CLASSIFICATION:  Full-Time, Non-Exempt

ACCOUNTABLE TO: WX/Housing Director

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION: Provide assistance to the Weatherization Program Director with administration of all housing projects. Will be expected to perform energy audits and mechanical testing. Will be responsible to perform data entry and file maintenance.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Inspect Client Projects
  • Monitor contractor activities.
  • Coordinate services with other available programs to better assist clients, including utility conservation improvement programs.
  • Maintain good public relations, while also resolving all questions and/or complaints in a timely manner.
  • Regularly research and interpret regulations to the benefit of the grantee and client.
  • Attend meetings and training as requested.
  • Assist in vendor or contractor negotiations as requested by Program Director.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping to assist the program director.
  • Responsible for coordinating field activities with Program Director and keeping Program Director informed of all such activities, problems, or client and contractor concerns.
  • Adheres to the agency’s policy concerning data privacy.
  • Keeps immediate supervisor informed of all problems, unusual or extraordinary matters of significance coming to his/her attention so that prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

ABILITIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must possess excellent organizational skills, time management and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills in; Word, Excel and Outlook 365
  • Must possess the capability to use client data base FACSPRO and other customer computer and technology application systems.
  • Ability to work positively and productively.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

EXPECTED POSITION TYPE AND WORK ENVIROMENT:

  • This position requires both office and field structured work environment.
  • Must have access of transportation for travel to attend out of the office meetings, trainings or field work as needed.
  • This position is Full-Time position working week days 8:00 a.m. -4:30 p.m.
  • May occasionally communicate with contractor after business hours or be on-call during winter months.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

  • May occasionally need the ability to lift, pull, or push up to 40 lbs.
  • May occasionally be climbing, stooping or kneeling.
  • Ability of fine motor skill: Write, type on a computer and/or use phone system.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of energy techniques, heating system, and home construction.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in the implementation of housing or energy related programs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must meet the requirements of the DHS background check
