Northwest Community Action, Inc. (NWCA) is seeking a warm and caring individual to join our team as a Head Start Home Visit. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful programs that help local families improve educational opportunities for low-income families with children.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Early Head Start Home Visitor is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive program for infants and toddlers through home visits and group socializations.
- This role focuses on supporting families by building on their strengths and empowering parents to recognize their vital role as their children’s primary educators.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field preferred. An associate’s degree in early childhood education or a related field, with experience working with preschool children and families, is also acceptable.
- A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and enrollment in a 2-year degree program in Early Childhood or a related field is considered.
- Must possess, or be willing to obtain, a Family Service Credential or equivalent if responsible for Family Partnership Agreements.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Must be unbiased towards low-income families and racial and ethnic groups. Must understand cultural diversity and differing values.

Key Responsibilities:
- The role of paraprofessionals in the classroom is to provide educational support for all children.
- Each classroom paraprofessional must possess or develop sufficient knowledge and skills in key areas, including emergency procedures, building orientation, roles and responsibilities, confidentiality, mandated reporting, and student safety.
- Paraprofessionals are expected to continuously develop their expertise related to the children they support. This includes gaining an understanding of disabilities, following lesson plans, and implementing appropriate follow-up activities to meet the educational and developmental needs of all children.

- Assists various families utilizing available resources, setting goals of improving self-sufficiency, and coordinates these with other service areas of Head Start/Early Head Start in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards.
- Provides coordination with parents, community resources, and Head Start staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Human Services, Education, or a related field and/ or a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of A high school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience in early childhood education. Must possess or be willing to obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an equivalent qualification with experience working with preschool children and their families.

Northwest Community Action, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Service Advocate to join our team. The Family Service Advocate will work closely with low-income individuals and families to provide support, resources, and guidance to move individuals and families toward financial stability and self-sufficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement case management methods to encourage and support families/individuals who are seeking to improve the quality of life for themselves.
- Promote the development of skills necessary to enable participants to function successfully, in whatever role they choose to pursue in becoming economically independent.
- Promote positive self-concept/self-esteem among participants.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage families in goal setting and behavior change
- Monitor and document progress towards goals and outcomes
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Strong background in social work or related field
- Experience with budgeting and money management
- Ability to work effectively with individuals and families in diverse situations
- Good communication and computer skills are a must
- Minimum of two-year degree in Human Services and/or related field or minimum of two years’ work experience in a related field.
